In January the state was much hotter and slightly wetter than average. broke the record for the hottest January on record (154 years)!! Several other sites saw a January that was over 10 degrees warmer than normal. Maximum and minimum temperatures were also well above average.

Precipitation was slightly above average for January, with the wettest regions being Western NY and Eastern Long Island.
